A pharmacist – his niece – his daughter – and a little help from his friends

Welcome to Perth Cremations & Burials—a family-owned and run funeral home dedicated to providing compassionate, professional, and respectful services for your loved ones.

Founded in 2014, we’ve been a part of the Perth community for over a decade. However, the real journey began in 2017 when I, Gerard, purchased the business from the original owner. Prior to this, I had a long career in pharmacy, which provided me with a structured, highly regulated environment. Transitioning into the funeral industry, I quickly discovered just how different this world was from the one I knew. The pharmacy industry is one of the most regulated and rigid in Australia, with prices set by the government and a strict framework to ensure safety and consistency. The funeral industry, on the other hand, operates with far fewer regulations, governed by an outdated 100-year-old Act and a set of regulations from the 1950s.

It wasn’t long before I realised that the funeral industry in Perth had lost its way and its core values. That was when I knew exactly what my vision for Perth Cremations & Burials and the wider Perth community would be. Rather than complain, argue, or get frustrated with the state of the industry, I took action. I implemented policies and procedures that bucked industry norms and sought to create a business that truly served families with the care and respect they deserved.

Our funeral packages include all essential products and services, along with GST, and offer a fixed, all-inclusive price. We provide full flexibility to customise packages according to your wishes, ensuring that you are fully informed and in control every step of the way.
Integrity: Integrity is a virtue that’s not always visible to others—it’s personal. It’s about doing what’s right, not what’s easy, even when no one is looking. We’ve built our business on this principle, and it guides everything we do. It wasn’t long after I took over the business that my niece joined the team, followed by my daughter a year later.
